Discover Vuollerim – Where Rivers Meet and History Runs Deep
Nestled in the heart of Swedish Lapland, Vuollerim is a small and welcoming Arctic village in Jokkmokk Municipality, surrounded by vast forests, rivers, and untouched wilderness. With a population of just over 600 people, it offers an authentic and peaceful escape far from the crowds.
The name Vuollerim comes from the Lule Sámi language, meaning “lower river” – a place where water flows swiftly yet calmly between rapids. This perfectly reflects the village’s setting at the meeting point of the Lilla Lule River and Stora Lule River, creating a landscape that is both dramatic and serene.
